Amazon Gives Businesses More Payment Options

Amazon Payments Added to Popular eCommerce Solutions

If you are an eCommerce business and you use one of twenty-five popular shopping cart solutions for your checkout process, you may have a new payment option for your customers. Amazon announced today that its Amazon Payments solutions are now available on platforms like CardinalCommerce, Miva Merchant, Magento, ShopVisible, Mercantec, and Zoovy.

There are two solutions from Amazon that are available. First off is Checkout by Amazon, which is suited best for sites selling physical goods. It includes tax support, shipping and promotion functionality. It also comes with post-order management.

The second solution is Simple Pay, which applies more to sites that sell digital goods, subscriptions, or services. It is also good for accepting donations. Simple Pay allows customers to use their existing Amazon accounts when checking out through your store. This way they will not have to re-enter information, and less hassle at the checkout process is typically a good thing.

"Working with shopping cart and e-commerce solution providers to make sure their solutions seamlessly integrate with Amazon Payments was one of our immediate priorities when we launched Amazon Payments less than a year ago," says Mark Stabingas, General Manager, Amazon Payments.

"Now businesses have an additional option for getting started with Amazon Payments and reaching Amazon’s tens of millions of customers with the easiest way for customers to complete a purchase, while also enjoying the benefits of Amazon’s fraud-detection technologies," he adds.

Those who wish to take advantage of Amazon Payments will be interested in knowing that the company is offering payment processing through September 30th – free of charge to businesses offering Simple Pay or Checkout by Amazon.
