Consortium Holds Entrepreneurship Week

Consortium focuses on entrepreneurs

The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education has announced the 5th Annual National Entrepreneurship Week, to be featured February 19-26, 2011.

According to Dr Cathy Ashmore, executive director, "The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education is challenging our 100+ member organizations and their extensive networks of entrepreneurship educators nationwide to join with entrepreneurs and economic developers to sponsor events at the local, state, and national levels during this special week.”

“As an advocate for entrepreneurial education as a lifelong learning process we are reaching out to educational leadership nationwide to support entrepreneurship education programs and activities that prepare our youth and adults for careers in the 21st Century."

Since 2006 when the US Congress passed Resolution # HR 699, advocating entrepreneurship education and an annual week nationally celebrating the value of America’s entrepreneurs to the economy, the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education www.entre-ed.org has served as the host. Each state is headed by a state leadership team coordinator that encourages activities and events in every community focusing on all levels of education and the community as a whole.

To nurture the "entrepreneurial spirit" in their states, the team leaders work with the Consortium to access resources, ideas, and publicity opportunities .
