Five Points That Will Make Or Break The SMB
By Frank Reed - Fri, 10/10/2008 - 8:18am.
Now, more than ever, marketing for the SMB will be critical. As we stare down the barrel of this economic mess we are in, it's time to make some cold, hard decisions. As business owners, these decisions might be around staff (who can you keep, who might need to move on, and who can't you afford to lose) and making sure that you get through this. There are many ways to get through any turbulent time. It's been done before. However, in my estimation this particular point in time requires a call to action that has never been sounded before.
SMB's: To Blog, Or Not To Blog
By Frank Reed - Thu, 10/09/2008 - 11:43am.
Well, it’s upon us. It’s obviously the end of the line for our economy. I suspect that when we all board up our shop windows and pack in our businesses we will just have to see what happens on the other side, if there even will be an other side of this mess. Hopefully there will be something left if this thing ever passes. Since we believe everything that the politicians and media tell us about the economy and ourselves this is the right time to just quit.

Why Your Business Needs a Website
By Danny Brown - Tue, 09/16/2008 - 1:35pm.
Many small business owners still don’t have a website, nor do they see a need for one. Their reasoning is that they are only a one-man band, or a very small company who sell mostly to their local area, so why should they spend extra on a website when they could advertise in their local newspaper instead? Yet the very reasoning about advertising locally is one of the reasons every business should have a website, regardless of size.
Search Marketers And Web Designers Should Work Together
By Frank Reed - Fri, 09/05/2008 - 10:53am.
Web sites are complicated, and they need lots of different skills to make them work. Every Web site needs a designer and a search marketing expert, but how do they work together? Sometimes it seems that the two don't know enough about each other to make it work.
Building Your Business
By Andrew Wee - Tue, 09/02/2008 - 10:29am.
One thing I’ve noticed in talking to peers and new internet marketers recently is that although both categories of internet business owners will build similar types of sites, the way they build their sites are radically different. I’ve had experience in construction and I’ll use some building analogies here.
Search Marketing Success
By Frank Reed - Fri, 08/29/2008 - 11:13am.
If you read my post on small business search marketing, you recall that I talked about how difficult it can be for small businesses to make search marketing work for them. Many simply don't understand the opportunity that exists. Some don't think that they have the technical know-how. Even more believe that they simply don't have the time. Well, if I might be so bold, I can give you the most important key to success in search marketing.
Your Brand vs. the Brands You Represent
By Brian Solis - Thu, 08/28/2008 - 3:41pm.
Whether we believe it or not, everyone within an organization is at some level, responsible for Public Relations. Everything we do, online and offline, builds the public perception of not only our personal brand, but also of the organization we represent.
Is Your Business Ready For The Next Generation?
By Dan Morrill - Tue, 08/26/2008 - 3:26pm.
The most fascinating speech at Gnomedex took place with a 15 year old entrepreneur who has already developed and sold three Facebook applications. What does he want, and how do companies reach out to this new generation of kids. The more interesting things he said were: 1. Add more social networking; add more sociability along all lines of the company. 2. Make it possible to make a difference, and listen to them, they have ideas, and not all of them are bad.
Get Corporate Sponsors for Conferences!
By Wayne Hurlbert - Fri, 08/22/2008 - 4:31pm.
Every day business people receive opportunities to attend conferences all over North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and every other continent. I am expecting a conference booked in Antarctica any day now. Attending these worthwhile events is not possible financially for everyone, however.
