Google Promotes Search-Based Keyword Tool

Start 2010 off right by optimizing for the best terms

Although some people may still be catching up on their email and sneaking in games of solitaire this morning, Google’s wasted no time in trying to get advertisers on the ball in 2010.  The search giant’s given the Search-based Keyword Tool a promotional bump to start things off.

A post on the Conversion Room Blog explained, "Millions of people use Google each day to find products and services by searching on various keywords.  This means that by including all keywords that are relevant to your product or service in your campaigns, you can ensure as many potential customers as possible see your ads."

The post then continued, "To help you do this, you can use the Search-based Keyword Tool to quickly identify relevant keywords which are not yet included in your AdWords campaigns."  A promo video followed.

This is worth looking into, at least, considering all the time and money that can be wasted in any attempt to discover and optimize for new keywords.  Since the suggestions will come straight from Google, they should be hard to beat.

The one possible catch is that would-be users will need to have a Google AdWords account.  Otherwise, the Search-based Keyword Tool should be free and prove easy to use.

  1. Really I think the point here though is that you are using an accurate list of searched keywords from the biggest database possible.

With the likes of Wordtracker etc charging a small fortune to use their service, is there really any point in subscribing, certainly not when the (one of the) best is free! Of course there are advantages to ALSO using additional packages other than the Google Keyword Tool primarily a larger keyword database that includes a larger set of long tailed keywords which obviously results in a lower PPC cost.

  2. There are two ways to generate keywords when writing an article. One is through providing the list of keywords through word search and the other one is through using website content.
