Microsoft Issues Money-Saving Tips

Tries to put £1,000 back into small business owners' wallets

Given the chance to earn

£1,000 (about $1,600), most people would be willing to make some fairly significant changes.  But Microsoft’s attempted to come up with a way small business owners can save that amount of money, and fortunately, the adjustments shouldn’t be hard to make.

Microsoft LogoHere are the three slight catches: first, saving the

£1,000 theoretically involves four changes.  Second, not all of Microsoft’s tips are completely original and brilliant, so you may have already stopped spending the money.  Or third, they may not apply to your business at all.

Still, suggestion number one is a decent one for folks who make international calls.  Microsoft plugged www.cheapestinternationalcalls.com, explaining, "It’s a huge list of providers of pre-dial telephone services.  Simply select the country you want to call, and the site gives you a selection of appropriate cheap call providers.  All of these pre-dial services need no signup, and no account to be opened."

The second recommendation is to shop around for broadband.  The third is to use the Internet to shop around for about everything else.  Finally, the fourth tip reminds folks to use something like www.petrolprices.com to find the cheapest places to fill up your car (or fleet of cars or vans).

All in all, this should easily save a small business

£1,000 a year by Microsoft’s reckoning.
