While more APIs are expected in the coming months, immediately available are a new order management API, a product import API and a real-time orders notification API. The order management API enables third-party software to pull Facebook order data into their system and give sellers the ability to manage the lifecycle of an order from a single location.

The Product import API is for multi-channel e-commerce platforms, and enables the complete management of a Facebook store’s product inventory from within any third-party e-commerce platform.

Finally, the real-time orders notification API lets developers fuel real-time messaging around new orders, which can include both push notifications to mobile devices and system notifications to launch shipments or other fulfillment processes.

“Payvment is the first foray into e-commerce for many new sellers – as their businesses grow, they are frequently looking for additional solutions that are compatible with their Payvment store, such as web-based e-commerce or mobile commerce solutions,” said Christian Taylor, founder and CEO of Payvment.  “Companies that integrate with Payvment gain early access to thousands of new potential customers.”

“Payvment has established itself as the market leader for Facebook commerce, with a customer base growing at a rate of 400 new Facebook stores per day,” added Taylor.  “As more companies seek to offer social commerce functionality, we anticipate that many of them will choose to leverage Open Payvment to accelerate their development and ensure their products are integrated with the market-leading Facebook commerce solution.”

Shipping software provider Shipwire is already taking advantage of the Open Payvment program and its APIs. it uses them to automate the shipping of Facebook orders.

"Facebook is a massive new marketplace, and Payvment makes it easy to sell on Facebook. The free Shipwire connector to Payvment completely automates the shipping of Facebook orders, from warehouses around the world. Now manufacturers and retailers have a new way to grow their business," said Damon Schechter, founder and CEO of Shipwire Order Fulfillment.

Other companies that have already integrated with Open Payvment include Shoutlet, Social Candy, Retailigence and Shipping Easy.

You have to keep in mind that Facebook has about 700 million users,so this is indeed a huge marketplace, and you’d be hard pressed to find another ecosystem on the web with better targeting options for advertisers.

Last week, Pavyment introduced some new features, including: advanced analytics, automated social promotions and coupons and multiple storefronts. There are three packages that businesses can use: the free version of Payvment, Payvment Premium ($29.95/month or $299.95/year) and Payvment Platinum. They won’t give you the pricing on that one unless you contact them.

Earlier this year, Payvment launched a Shopping Mall for Facebook, which includes celebrity brands and local brands.

  1. I have used other similar solutions on facebook but none of them can really bring “thousands new customers” because people on facebook are not shoppers. Unlike shopping catalogs where people come intentionally to find better price for desired product, facebook users are coming to spend their time – to chat with girls, to see or to show photos etc. Social networks are not marketplace and will never be

  2. Great article. I don’t use Pavyment yet, but thanks for the heads up. I am going to check them out.

  3. Can i see demo somewhere related to above article? and how much it cost to website owner?
