Small Business Advocate Of The Year Chosen

Congratulations go to Thomas C. Pitrone

Cue the trumpets, the confetti, and whatever other celebration/important ceremony-type-stuff you’ve got lying around.  The National Small Business Association has named Thomas C. Pitrone, CFP of The Integrity Group, the Lewis Shattuck Small Business Advocate of the Year.

Pitrone’s got quite a history as far as aiding small businesses is concerned.  The Integrity Group actually provides financial services to other small firms.  He’s worked with the Council of Smaller Enterprises, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and the Ohio Small  Business Council Board, as well, plus the NSBA itself.

NSBA President Todd McCracken said in a statement, "I can’t think of a more driven, selfless and dedicated small-business advocate than Tom Pitrone.  Tom pushes for policies that not only help all of America’s small businesses, but he works on a daily basis to ensure that entrepreneurship remains a viable goal for the millions of Americans considering starting their own business."

The other four finalists, as we reported on Thursday, were Michael Bowlds, Michael Mitternight, Susan Ratliff, and Robert C. Smith.

Award money wasn’t exactly passed out in overflowing bags, but everybody got treated to a nice lunch in Washington, D.C.
