Study: Small Business Looks Strong for the Next Decade

TurboTax Makers meet with Senate...

Financial software provider Intuit, makers of QuickBooks, Quicken, and TurboTax, are saying that the future looks strong for small businesses in the U.S. after meeting with members of congress and industry experts.

Intuit has been conducting a study for over a year, which found that "barriers to starting a small business will shatter and their success rates will improve over the next decade".

Intuit shared this and other information from it’s study with members from the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the House Committee on Small Business, the Small Business Administration, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Women’s Business Centers and the Association of Small Business Development Centers among other small business associations.

Meetings with these associations took place with the sole purpose of generating discussions about working together on the future success of small businesses.

The powers that be seem pretty optimistic and interested in Intuit’s data.

"There are numerous opportunities for the committee [House Committee on Small Business] members to consider when it comes to where technology intersects with small business," said Senator Mark Pryor.

"We welcome Intuit’s recommendations for legislation that will empower small businesses through the use of today’s technology to help them realize their dreams," he added.
