NRF Predicts Tolerable 4th Of July Spending

It's time for sales of fireworks and hotdogs - and/or earplugs and trash bags - to take off again. The National Retail Federation found that lots of people intend to celebrate the 4th of July, but not everyone will be out waving a flag or staring at the sky.
4th Of July Celebrations Should Be Bigger This Year

Mother's Day wasn't great for businesses, according to National Retail Federation estimates, with spending down 10.6 percent on a year-over-year basis. Father's Day was better, with a decrease of just 3.9 percent occurring. And now, with the 4th of July approaching, it looks like we might make it back into positive territory.
