American Small Business League Sues DHS

When government contracts are distributed, there's often a concern that not enough of them go to small businesses. Now, to ensure all the rules and regulations were followed in a situation involving Boeing, the American Small Business League has sued the Department of Homeland Security.According to the ASBL, DHS has chosen not to release certain subcontracting reports on contracts awarded to Boeing, ignoring repeated Freedom of Information Act requests.
One Question Could Get Small Businesses Billions

Lloyd Chapman, President of the American Small Business League (ASBL) issued a statement saying that small businesses in America could be saved from bankruptcy if one mainstream journalist would ask the presidential candidates one question: "If you were elected President, would you allow Fortune 500 firms to continue to receive billions of dollars in federal small business contracts?"

The Bush "bailout bill" has drawn some criticism from small business enthusiasts, namely the American Small Business League (ASBL) unsurprisingly. "Not only does this bill not contain any provisions that specifically help small business, it has provisions that could actually harm middle class firms. The language in Section 107 of the bill is totally inconsistent with the stated objectives of this legislation," says ASBL President Lloyd Chapman.

It's amazing how often these stories keep popping up. Granted, the source is always the same - the American Small Business League (ASBL), and they clearly have an agenda. That agenda seems to be a pretty noble one as far as small business is concerned though, and if no one else is highlighting what is going on in the government with regards to small business contracts, we'll be all ears of what the ASBL has to say about it.
