Give Your Customer Something Extra
By Chris Crum - Fri, 05/02/2008 - 8:52am.
One good way to get your customers coming back is to offer them a little something extra when they actually do buy from you. It is one thing to offer a deal that clearly states that if they buy something they will get something else as well. There's nothing wrong with that. That is a good way to entice them to buy something from you in the first place, but I'm talking about giving them a little bonus for making a purchase. Something that surprises them.
Branding and Search Engine Marketing
By Gary Angel - Mon, 04/28/2008 - 3:05pm.
There is an interesting thread on Jacques Warren’s blog that is quite distinct from my discussion of branding but has a definite relationship to it. Brand marketing is a surprisingly big part of even the most direct aspects of web marketing. Both the post itself and the ensuing discussion are well worth reading. Jacques' post comments on the high-propensity to brand search on Google (and not just Google).
Where Will Your Online Business Be in Five Years?
By Andrew Wee - Wed, 04/16/2008 - 8:38am.
If you’ve been to Greenland or the Antartica (especially around the North Pole), you’d have seen numerous icebergs, some as big as a house, and many that are many times the size of an apartment complex or even bigger. That’s your internet business. Get it? Picture if you will your internet business as represented by the iceberg. It could be huge. It could be imposing.
Often Overlooked Places To Leave Your Stamp Online
By Chris Crum - Mon, 04/14/2008 - 9:50am.
There are places online beyond your site/blog where you should be representing your brand and featuring links. This is another one of those common sense articles, but sometimes these things just get overlooked or put off when they could in fact be bringing business your way had you just took a few minutes to add some text, a graphic, and/or a link or two.Bios in Articles
Ways Online Forum Participation Can Benefit Your Business
By Chris Crum - Wed, 04/02/2008 - 11:12am.
Web forums can offer many of the same benefits to your business as social networks. In fact, I kind of tend to think about forums as the original social networks. They've been around and have been helping people much longer than MySpace and Facebook. You've got profile pages, private messages, and public conversation. Perhaps they don't typically have all the frills of a MySpace or a Facebook, but the general concept is there.
Benefits of Attending Conferences and Niche Events

There are a variety of reasons to attend conferences and events that are related to your niche. It's not always just about the information presented.Networking
Branding a Need
By Chris Crum - Thu, 03/27/2008 - 1:48pm.
Using market research can work to your advantage when trying to sell a product. Look at how GoDaddy used the startling information about how only half of small businesses in the U.S. have websites. This bit of information (complete with quotes from the research firm that provided the information explaining the amount of potential business they're losing) makes for a nice segway into pitching the sale of domain names.
Top 5 Ways to Ensure Your Domain Name is Effective
By Chris Crum - Fri, 02/15/2008 - 12:31pm.
If you don't feel like you're getting enough business from your website, evaluate your domain name before you go to all of the trouble and cost of marketing it.
Branding Campaigns and Click-Through
By Andy Beal - Wed, 02/13/2008 - 12:09pm.
Starcom, Tacoda and comScore’s “Natural Born Clickers” study suggests that advertisers looking to increase their brand awareness should dump click-through rates as a measure of success. The study found that, when it comes to display advertising, 50% of the clicks come from just 6% of the total US online population. And while these 25-44 year olds spend four times the amount online compared to non-clickers, they earn less than $40k a year.
Using Promotional Gifts to Brand Your Business
By Chris Crum - Wed, 02/13/2008 - 11:39am.
If you've ever gone to a business conference of any kind, you have likely been given or at least seen company-branded novelty items. Not that you have to go to a conference to find such items. There's a good chance you own things like this. Pens, coffee mugs, shirts, etc. Giving away promotional gifts is a branding strategy that has been around a long time. That is because it can be very effective. What Kinds of Items to Use
