Google introduced a new program in partnership with American Express called My Business Story. This lets small businesses tell their stories through videos, and leads up to the second annual Small Business Saturday, which is aimed at encouraging communities to spend and support local businesses.

Nominations Window Open For Small Business Summit

On March 8th, the Sixth Annual Small Business Summit will begin in New York City, and a certain number of small businesses will be recognized for their good work. But before that happens, a nominations period is necessary, and we're pleased to report that the window's now open.From now until February 1st and February 8th, the owners of small firms can submit their companies' names for the 2011 Small Business Strategy Award and a "Hot Tech Demo" segment, respectively. One business can win the first award; as many as ten can win the second.

Google TV Ads Contest Winners Announced

Thanks to Google, three small businesses are going to receive a rather significant of national exposure. Amazing Gates, Owners.com, and ZAGG.com have been declared the winners of Google's TV for All contest.The contest began about two months ago when small businesses were asked to submit 30- or 60-second promotional videos. Some judges narrowed down the list of entries ten finalists, and then YouTube users were allowed to vote for three winners.
2009 Winner Of Small Biz Excellence Award Announced

Getting to this point was a long process; we first talked about this year's Dell/NFIB Small Business Excellence Awards way back in February. However, for one business, the wait has proven worth it, as the overall U.S. winner has finally been announced. BusinesSuites, which provides executive suites and virtual office services, came out on top. The company's about 20 years old, has 15 locations, employees 55 people, and manages more than 1,400 clients. Which is an impressive collection of stats, all in all.
