eBay to Hold Events for Small Businesses

With 90 million active users, eBay is one of the leading places online to start a business. The company has decided to lend a helping hand to small-businesses and part-time eBay sellers to advance their career opportunities. The company has announced a new series of events called eBay: On Location. Starting in March the affair will stop at Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, and San Jose.

Small Businesses Ready to Have Holiday Parties This Year

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants conducted a nationwide survey finding that the majority of small business owners, managers and decision makers are planning holiday parties for employees this year. Budgets may be reduced from previous years, but a third of those polled indicated they are planning to spend $30 or more per employee. Other findings from the survey include:

Next Monday, November 17h, the New York Times is hosting its fourth annual Small Business Summit at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in NYC. I know travel expenses are one of the things many businesses are trying to cut back on, but before you read any further, general admission for this thing is only $99. Women-Owned Franchise Numbers on the Rise

Franchise consultants FranNet issues a release today discussing trends in women-owned franchises. They cited reports from the International Franchise Association, which found that women have founded 23 franchise systems in the U.S., and within a 10 year span, women-owned franchises increased nearly 17%.
