Anyone who thought (or at least hoped) the National Federation of Independent Business's Small-Business Optimism Index would climb forever has unfortunately been proven wrong. This week, the NFIB announced that the Optimism Index fell by a significant amount in March.

If the National Federation of Independent Business Index of Small Business Optimism is to be believed, we're almost out of the recession. The NFIB released new data today, and the stats indicate that small business owners are more optimistic now than they've been anytime in the past three years.

Another report on the credit conditions facing small business owners is in, and the news is mixed. The National Federation of Independent Business believes there were both fewer unmet credit requests in 2010 versus 2009, and an increase in the number of discouraged borrowers who had given up trying.

A report concerning the National Federation of Independent Business Index of Small Business Optimism is out, and the news isn't great. The Index took a small slide last month, apparently making December the 36th month during which Index readings have been at recession levels.
NFIB Finds Employment Flat In December

A few days ago, Intuit released an employment report related to December, and for the sake of both employers and the overall economy, we're hoping it was accurate. The National Federation of Independent Business has released its own findings on the subject, however, and it's rather less optimistic.

The National Federation of Independent Business's website is looking rather festive these days, with snowflakes and touches of red and green at the top, and the latest report on optimism seems a decent match for it. The NFIB found that the Index of Small Business Optimism rose 1.5 points in November.

Judging from the National Federation of Independent Business's latest info, small business owners were in a significantly better mood in October compared to previous months. The National Federation of Independent Business Index of Small Business Optimism rose 2.7 points, hitting 91.7.
NFIB Puts Optimism Up In August

Judging by the latest data from the National Federation of Independent Business, August was a good month for small business owners (at least compared to July). The Index of Small Business Optimism rose 0.7 points on a month-over-month basis.

Sooner or later, what goes up will presumably in one sense stay up - the economy can't crash forever - but in the month of July, that wasn't quite the case. The National Federation of Independent Business Index of Small Business Optimism slid again.
