Chairman Of House Small Business Committee Named

Small business owners may want to acquaint themselves with the name - and voting record of - Sam Graves. Today, U.S. Congressman Graves was named Chairman of the Small Business Committee in the House of Representatives.We'll try to steer clear of political judgment calls here by just relaying some facts. First: Graves is a republican from Missouri who's been an active politician on a state level since at least 1992. Also, he serves on the Agriculture and Transportation Committees in addition to the Small Business Committee.
NSBA Applauds Small Business Bill

The National Small Business Association (NSBA) said today it applauds the approval of the Small Business Jobs Bill, and urges the House to promptly take-up the Senate-approved language.Though the Senate failed to pass language fully repealing the new and expanded 1099 reporting requirement, lawmakers would be remiss if they failed to revisit repeal efforts in the near future, the NSBA said.

Small Businesses Favor Clean Energy In Survey

Although clean energy probably won't be cheap and accessible for a while - just compare the process of tracking down and installing a solar panel to filling up a car's gas tank - the majority of small business owners support it, according to a new survey. They even support it to the point of favoring legislation.
