In the Small Business Opinion Poll from EMPLOYERS, small business decision-makers indicate that it will require over 12 months for their businesses to return to pre-recession levels, in terms of annual sales. In addition, 41% say it will be more than 10 months before they start hiring.

MerchantCircle, a social network for local business owners, has shared some results from its first Mechant Confidence Index survey of over 12,000 business owners. The firm found that only 23% of merchants believe the worst of the recession is behind us, although only 5.7% expect their businesses to fail.

According to ABI Research, the recession has had little impact on businesses' use of mobile data services. Worldwide mobile data services revenues are expected to increase 17% in 2010, they say."Company consolidations have forced the remaining workforce to become even more efficient," says practice director Dan Shey. "Mobile data services offer the most options for tailoring services to the needs and work practices of workers in order to increase productivity and business efficiency."

As defined by the Business Dictionary, relationship marketing is, "Promotional and selling activities aimed at developing and managing trusting and long-term relationships with larger customers.
