Kerry Slams Bush Over SBA Loan Program

Senator John Kerry, who is chairman of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has yet again called out the Bush Administration for something. Nothing new there, but the focus this time is an estimated $404 million in fixed asset loans from the Small Business Administration's (SBA) 504 program. Kerry is calling upon the Bush Administration to "protect taxpayer investments" in small business loans backed by the government, and to reinstate a program that "uses lenders to recoup losses from defaulted loans".

If you live in the United States, you no doubt know about the economic stimulus package that is giving tax rebates to over 130 million working American households.Businesses all over the country are working on plans for how to use that money, and the White House thought it would be interesting (and it kind of is) to share what some of these businesses intend to do with the extra money. President Bush met with a number of SMB owners Monday and discussed future plans directly related to the stimulus package.
