The Best Businesses to Be In?

Ones that help others save money may be worth considering.

Small business confidence is up. Small business confidence is down. Up. Down. Amidst the contradictory studies and outlooks, it can be hard for an aspiring entrepreneur to make a decision on what business to go into.

With the economy the way it is, any decision comes with its share of risk. So what are the best businesses to be in?

Roni at WatchMeFranchise.com has put together a list of ten small businesses that are "excelling in today’s economy", and not surprisingly, a good deal of them are reflections of the economy itself.

Businesses like discount stores, check cashing, debt relief, job placement agencies, and pawn shops made the list.

The list brings to mind a broader point that perhaps the best ideas for new businesses are ones that will help customers financially.

It only makes sense that a business who’s sole purpose is to save the consumer money would thrive in harsh economic times.

Of course that’s not to say that these are the only businesses that will find success, but it is a factor to be considered when searching for ideas.
