Tips To Survive The Tough Economy

Start by ignoring it

In keeping with one of four tips, we’re not going to touch on the latest economic headlines today.  Just know that they’re less than encouraging, and unfortunately, make Denise O’Berry’s "economy-busting" pieces of advice seem all the more necessary.

O’Berry starts by recommending that you not pay attention to all of the breathtaking financial ups and downs.  Fascinating as they are, most of the developments should have little direct impact on the day-to-day business of your company, and so are just diversions that could get you needlessly upset.

Next, she suggests, "Take a good hard look at your sales.  What floats to the top?  That’s where you need to focus your efforts.  Don’t get distracted by other things.  Your customers are telling you what they want.  Listen to them."  A sort of kitchen sink approach might overwhelm people, after all.

Finally, tips three and four are areas we’ve delved into before, but with the third recommendation – come up with cost-saving ideas – O’Berry suggests turning to your employees for answers.  The fourth idea is to save cash and instead barter.

As always, good luck, and feel free to volunteer any more proposals.
