When you need in-the-now employees When recruiting job prospects, it may never occur to an employer to use a podcast. But some say job podcasts are the next step in interactive recruitment, especially if the goal is to find tech-savvy, on-the-cutting-edge employees.
AllCountyJobs is a company that is betting on the new trend of "jobcasting" to grab great new employees. Their website, JobsInPods.com, allows employers to creates podcasts and listings to go with them, searchable by job type and region.
Well, "listing" might be too old school. They call it a "blog post" that goes with each jobcast, that has links to other relevant information.
The benefit to potential employees, AllCountyJobs says, is that they can subscribe to an RSS feed for updates about specific companies or regions or job types, and listen to job descriptions, or information about the culture of a company on a device of their choosing.
According to the About page at JobsInPods:
These “jobcasts” give you unique insight into different aspects of the company such as:
What it’s like to work there, the kinds of people they hire, the benefits they offer and what their ideal candidate is like.
Some may opt for the old-fashioned job board method, and certainly there will be – perhaps for now – a larger pool of candidates. But a method like this would allow an employer to narrow down a specific type of employee rather quickly – i.e., there's not going to be any technological dinosaurs applying.
