Marketing Your Small Business

Simple things to do

There are a number of ways you can market your small business without spending a large sum of money.

Print a small ad on a postcard and mail it to potential customers in your targeted market area. People are more likely to read a message on a postcard if it is brief. This can also lead people to your Web site and create sales leads.

Send a handwritten note to a customer who purchased a product or service from your business and thank them for doing so. Include a discount for the next time they may need to use your business along with an expiration date to create urgency.

Use a newsletter to keep in touch with existing customers. To save money consider an email newsletter sent to people who are in your database instead of a printed newsletter.

Write educational articles for trade journals, newspapers, and other publications that reach customers. This will get your name in the public and help build credibility.

Make sure the name of your company is readable. Some logos use lettering that make the company name hard to read.

Marketing for Small Businesses

In our days, marketing is something that no business can survive without. My favorite marketing strategy is with Email Marketing. Email Marketing sould not be compared to SPAM, SPAM is something, Email Marketing is other.

I'm talking about legitime and only legal Email Marketing with 100% CAN SPAM ACT 2003 compliance can boost your business on levels you never thought for. Know that when you e-mail the people on your list, you engage in some level of "direct response" marketing, marketing that requests an action from the recipient. Offers that Prompt an Immediate Sale.

Before you consider what to offer, ask yourself, "Is my product (or service) one that I can sell directly?" Do you sell a product that people can pick up the phone or visit your website to buy immediately? If you sell jewelry, clothing, pet supplies, a workshop or a host of other products, then, yes, you can expect direct sales as a result of your e-mail. Also, if you want to get people to sign up for a special event (fundraiser, golf tournament, summer camp, etc.) then you can expect a direct response as well.

Postcard Marketing

Postcard Marketing is one of the greatest marketing techniques in the history, which is more affordable and customizablefor small business. Do you know? Small businesses spent over $64 billion in sending postcard advertisements through direct mail marketing in 2006 alone. For small businesses Postcard offers flexible solution which remains consant.

Let me say why i like Postcards,

  • Postcards are less expensive.
  • Keeps your mailing list clean.
  • Have high impact
  • Simple to create and send.

A small ad on postcard gives you a high traffic on your website.

Make sure that you send your postcard to a good list of  qualified prospects only.
