Is it really possible for small businesses to get help? Why is it that small businesses always think the government is out to get them? Because they are, but maybe not for the reason you’re thinking.
That’s right; government agencies can actually provide assistance to small businesses. Some offer financial aid, training courses, consultation, resources, and much, much more.
One agency that provides many helpful services is the Small Business Administration. The SBA has a 24-hour toll-free number and an answer desk email account, which gives small business owners a quick and easy method to receive information. The number is 1-800-U-ASK-SBA and the email address is answerdesk@sba.gov.
Entrepreneurship.gov is another great agency for small businesses that has a collection of online resources. These resources are “intended to help build economies that foster entrepreneurship worldwide.”
As strange as it sounds, another agency that is helpful but might surprise you a bit is the IRS. It’s vitally important to stay informed on the current tax laws and to have a thorough knowledge of taxes in general. Their website is full of information that will give you a solid foundation to build upon.
