Hearing to Address Small Business Fairness Issues

...regarding regulatory agency policies

A "regulatory fairness" hearing is being held next month to address issues of unfair and excessive federal regulatory enforcement impacting small businesses across the United States.

A series of such hearings now takes place each year, allowing small business owners a place to complain about unfair practices and policies from regulatory agencies.

"The first national hearing was a great success, as groups explained the challenges their small business members face when trying to comply with regulations within their respective industries," said Small Business Administration National Ombudsman Nicholas Owens.

"We would like to build upon last year's hearing, and continue to successfully identify those federal regulatory enforcement actions that are excessive -- rather than effective -- for small businesses across the nation," added Owens.

Owens also admits that the hearings are an opportunity for people to get a better understanding of what the Office of the National Ombudsman does.

The hearing, which will be hosted by the Office of the National Ombudsman at the U.S. Small Business Administration will take place at Environmental Protection Agency's east building in Washington D.c. on March 12.

For further information, Christina Marinos from the Office of the National Ombudsman has been made available.
