Disaster recovery
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!
My company Logical IT (Australia) Pty Ltd provides a range of computer related products and services and one of our specialty areas is disaster recovery and prevention (with a focus on data storage and server recovery)
One of our clients asked us about a backup solution and we suggested an automated tape based back up regime. Although our quote was only a couple of hundred dollars for a basic system (it was a small company) they decided that they wanted an even cheaper solution so we explained that they could use a USB flash drive or an external hard-drive but that this was an inelegant solution as it involved no automation of back up tasks.
This client was broken into last year and they stole all the computers and laptops including the machine that still had the external drive attached to it!
They very nearly went out of business and it was only though a stroke of luck that we managed to recover a hard-drive which had become corrupted that had some of their old data on it. Ironically it was this drive which inspired the request for a DR solution in the first place!
