Loans intended to help current members of the military, veterans, and their spouses are proving extremely popular.  The Patriot Express Loan Initiative has distributed more than $100,000 million since it came into existence in June of last year.

Not everyone will qualify, of course, and if you don't fit into one of those three categories, you're pretty much out of luck.  Still, the program - which was created by the Small Business Administration - passed the 1,000-loan mark earlier this month, so it's not too closed-off.

SBA Administrator Steve Preston recently stated, "Each day sees the number of Patriot Express loans rise and the number of participating lenders, currently more than 773 nationwide, rise as well.  We thank these lenders, and those coming aboard, for their special efforts on behalf of entrepreneurial veterans and others in our military community."

With lending terms becoming increasingly restrictive nationwide, the Patriot Express Loan Initiative seems all the more important.  Loans of up to $500,000 are available, and you can investigate additional terms at the official site.
