Post-disaster loans...The Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that certain private non-profit organizations in our home state of Kentucky that don't provide critical governmenal services might be eligible for low-rate disaster loans.
The loans stem from President' Bush's Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance after damages caused by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding in early February.
Counties elligible to apply for the loans include: Adair, Allen, Bath, Carlisle, Casey, Estill, Franklin, Grayson, Hardin, Meade, Mercer, Metcalfe, Monroe, Morgan, Muhlenberg, and Shelby.
"PNP [private non-profit] organizations are urged to contact their county emergency managers to obtain information about local briefings. At the meeting, PNP representatives will provide information about their organization," said Frank Skaggs, Director of SBA Field Operations Center East.
Examples of elligible organizations are things like food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools, colleges, etc.
Organizations must apply by April 21st.
