Get Rich Off Graduation Season

Parents and kids will spend

This can technically take place at any semester's conclusion, and if there's more than one school in your area, even the ends of the spring semesters are unlikely to fall together.  Still, try to see what you can get out of graduation season.

Pitching to parents might be one of the easiest ways to do this.  As Mommy and Daddy prepare to send Junior from high school to college, or from college into the wider world, make sure that whatever you sell is seen as an invaluable aid (or at least a really nice "extra").

Junior might be receptive to some offers, as well.  Smart young people aren't going to spend wildly, but if something either fits their tastes or seems like it will open doors, they'll likely find room on the credit card for it.

And here's one last way in which graduation season can benefit a business: the best and brightest Juniors will need work.  Employers should have a bit of an edge given the current economy, so now's an especially good time to bring young people aboard.

It costs upwards of $120,000 to raise a child from birth to 17 years old.  Even if you're not in the cap and gown business, capture a piece of that pie.
