Twitter Usefulness for Small Business Folk

...courtesy of Twellow.

I don't know if you're much into social networking or not. There are a lot of mixed opinions on Twitter specifically, but Twitter just got more useful to the small business crowd.

Our sister site WebProNews has launched a new tool for Twitter called Twellow that allows you to search and browse Twitter members based on their interests and bios.

Check out Twellow

In other words, if you want to find some other small business people to follow, you can simply browse the small business section and its sub-categories, or search for "small business" and find a plethora of Twitterers who are all into small business.

Not that Twellow is limited to Small Business. That is just one of the many categories, but naturally, I assumed that if you are reading this, you are probably interested in small business.

The categories are as diverse as any directory if not more so. There are categories for entertainment, web developers, religion, real estate, law, biotechnology, food, and many more.

It's opened to positive reviews and people are seeing the true usefulness of it.

Adam Ostrow at Mashable says:

So far, my Twitter experience has mostly revolved around adding friends and interesting people I come across on blogs, or simply re-following those that follow me. Twellow allows you to be proactive about finding new and interesting people to follow, and does a great job of presenting the results.

Twitter users find it useful. It may also inspire non-users to become users. You can take this as shameless self-promotion if you like, or just a testimonial of a useful tool.

What do you think about Twellow? Be honest. It's still in alpha.

Twellow

I like this site.  I joined after I saw that most of my friends and colleagues had signed up - sometimes you've just gotta follow the crowd.

However, I'm certainly not using Twitter to its fullest potential and so am open to new tools such as Twellow to help me achieve this.  It has helped me to see how people in different categories are using Twitter.

It would be useful if, when you found someone that you wanted to connect with, that it would open into a new page to make it easier to go back to Twellow.

RE: Twellow

I'm glad you checked it out. The team behind Twellow is definitely open to feedback. You can submit any suggestions to them here. That goes for everyone!

Change category

I see the site is usefull. But I think made a mistake which I didn't choose  the category before "get listed" on twellow.

Do we need to choose the category before getting listed?

Is there any way to change the category?

RE: Change category

Hi Akuhdiah,

I'm sure they can change it for you if you contact the Twellow team with the Twellow contact form here.
