Are you convinced that you need one yet?We hope that you have at least started putting ideas together for a privacy policy. We previously covered several reasons explaining why you should have a privacy policy on your website and what it should include.
Remember that the ultimate goal is to constantly build a relationship of trust with your customers. So, let's pick up where we left off.
Allow your customers access to their account information. Let them have the liberty to add information or remove it from their profile. People are more apt to tell more about themselves if they can do it themselves.
Also, if you make revisions to your privacy statement, let your customers know. They may not like the changes, but they have a right to know about them.
In case your customers have additional questions concerning their privacy, give them the contact information of someone who can answer their questions.
One final tip related to privacy policies, ensure your statement is understandable. If your attorney writes it for you, make sure he or she makes it conversational. You don't want something flowery that your customers cannot understand.
