Social Networking Within Your Business

May be a good way to keep staff communicating...

We've repeatedly discussed how social media marketing can benefit a small business, but what about using a social network within the business itself?

Just last week I talked about ways to make sure everyone on your staff is on the same page, and this interview at smallbiztechnology.com brings up another potential way.

The interview is with Sosius founder Andrew Cameron-Webb. Sosius, from what I gather, is kind of a social network of sorts for business communication. Kind of like a Google Docs with more features and more social tools.

Admittedly, I have not personally used Sosius at this time, but based on the interview, it seems quite intriguing.

When asked how Sosius stands out from competitors offering similar tools, Andrew is able to provide a bulleted list of ten reasons why.

Since I haven't personally used it, I'm not going to give it a ringing endorsement, but some of you out there may be interested in checking it out (if you have used it, I'd love to hear your feedback).

I'm up for anything that improves organization within a company and contributes to overall productivity. I guess the real questions is, does it achieve this or will it turn into a time-waster as other social networks have often been accused of being?

Great post!  I believe in

Great post!  I believe in the power of inter-company social networks as well.  But it is important that you keep them on the right networks.  The E.Factor is a social network for Entrepreneurs and businesses.  They have a white label solution that would be perfect for companies as they can keep content controlled yet allow their members to network on a large scale.

Would it work?

Since I'm a very, very small business of one employee, me, I'm wondering if Sosius would help connect like minded business owners for networking and sharing idea?

Instead of employees within a business networking, would it work for keyword based grouping?

I'm always looking for ways to raise awareness for safety and security and enjoy interacting with similar minded people.

konnects.com

Great article. I first hand have seen home/small businesses use konnects. Konnects is built not only to network but to conduct business online. This is a fairly new way but has proven to be successful.
