In your branding and marketing endeavors.Color impacts everything we do. Did you ever think about that? I buy a lot of black clothes because I think black is slenderizing. My house is decorated with colors that I like. I don't eat certain food because of what color they are and the way the look.
I'm going to assume that I'm not the only one with these color preferences. Marketers assume this behavior also as they develop their brand and marketing campaign.
Think about a few top brands and logos and the colors associated with them. See how the following color descriptions match the companies they represent. Just to clue you in on a secret that's not-so-secret, marketers do this on purpose. They know what you're attracted to and they know how to make you associate their brand with their product.
White - associated with purity, innocence, and peace.
Black - bold, powerful, classy, stable, and sophisticated.
Gray or Silver - neutral color associated with tradition. In business, it represents technology, security, reliability, and practicality.
Blue - popular among businesses. Dark shades of blue represent authority, stability, intelligence, and unity. Lighter shades are calming and indicate freshness.
Red - acts as an alert and commander. Red makes you hungry. (I guess that's why nearly every restaurant has red in their title!). It symbolizes love, heat, warmth, passion, aggressiveness, and action.
Yellow - represents hope, excitement, and cheerfulness. It's a spiritual color that's sunny and happy.
Green - associated with money and nature. Olive green represents health and freshness. Green suggests balance, harmony, fertility, and freedom; but can also indicate jealousy and greed.
Brown - associated with nature and the earth. It represents richness, steadfastness, simplicity, warmth, coziness, and credibility.
Orange - implies health, contentment, ambition, generosity, and endurement.
Pink - represents gentleness, romance, charm, innocence, and well-being.
Purple - indicates royalty, luxury, and wealth. Pale shades of purple (lavender and lilac) are more feminine, delicate, and romantic.
It's very interesting how powerful these colors are, isn't it? Did you build your brand based on this behavior?
