Laura Leites over at SmallBizTechnology.com has pointed out an interesting piece of software that allows you to write on Microsoft Office documents using your mouse, a tablet pc pen, or other point and click tools as if you were marking on them with a pen.

The idea is that you could scratch notes on your digital file, just as you would a printed out document.

I'll admit that this is a neat idea in concept, but I can't really see the need to use such a program.

The beauty of the digital document is that you can easily delete things, go back and add spaces, etc.

The product is aimed more at the TabletPC and Smartphone crowd, but if for some reason an average PC user wanted to use it, they could too.

The software is called PenOffice 3.0, and it is in Beta until sometime this fall, and can be downloaded here.

As you can probably tell, I am skeptical of its usefulness, but some may find it to the contrary. What do you think? Would you use a tool like this?
