Maybe you're excellent about transferring information from emails to calendars and address books. And as a SmallBizTechnology article points out, participants in some industries are required by law to archive things.
On to the possibilities, then. One way to back emails up is to hit "print" every few seconds. If you can pay for and live with the waste of ink and paper, this will work. Or you can forward everything to free Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail accounts.

The main point is not to risk losing all sorts of valuable information due to a single goof. Recovering from that can cost time, money, and your reputation.
