work harder
Most definetly true.
If I get shorter than a 16 hour day 7 days a week I think myself lucky.
Small business owners have much to prove and find themselves doing the work of 2-3 people at times.
A lot of small business owners dont know how to delegate and feel more comfortable doing things themselves even know they have capable staff around them.
I know I do!
As a web site owner and independent sales rep, I know I work hard. I have no one else to lean on but me so if I don't do it, it doesn't get done. Besides the basic running of the business, I also, I want my web site visitors to get great customer service so I work hard at that aspect of my business as well. My safety and security web site is a one man show but I want it to be as visible and professional as the big stores. That's no small goal and it takes a lot of work to achieve.
100 percent
most small business owners work 16 hour a day even when they are at home.
multitasking
I think multitasking is the primary reason small business owners work the harderst. Take for example a small web design shop. The CEO most of the time jumps into the shoes of the designer and at the same time the marketer, the accountant, the hr manager etc. Small businesses always face big challenges in the early days but great rewards await them if they can endure for a little while! This article just brings back memories of when we were starting out with our web design shop in Nigeria.
