The economy and saving money seems to be the most important topic to everyone right now. I ran across this article from InsideCRM entitled "78 Ways for Your Small Business to Save Money in this Economy", and thought it would be a shame for me not to share it with our readers.
It's a big list (obviously) and you can probably find more than one thing on it that suits your business and can save you money. You might find a whole bunch that work for you.
The list is broken down into categories:
- Technology
- Overhead
- Office Items and Office Space
- Advertising
- Insurance and Finances
- Travel, and
- Think Outside the Box
Bookmark the article and use it as a resource to save your business money. Much of it is good advice even outside of the current economic state. There is also a good deal of discussion building in the comments (which I assume will continue to grow), so I'd look for even more money-saving tips beyond the initial 78.
You never know - some of these tips might keep you from having to dip into you retirement savings as many are doing.

Good tips. I think this outline you presented is a great way to break down the expenses of any business. Recently I have been trying to cut costs any way possible in this rough economy. My business has been doing well but these last few semesters I have been hitting a bit of a rough patch. I recently hired a telephone answering service to help me stay organized and minimize employee and supply costs. Ive found it great for business and it has helped me keep some money in the bank.
