NSBA Congratulates Political Winners, Looks Ahead

No time to waste

Maybe what happened last night caused you to open a champagne bottle or two, or maybe you thought about cashing out your bank accounts and contacting movers in Canada.  Regardless, the election's over, it's time to get on with life, and the National Small Business Association is leading the way by looking ahead.

It seems that a lot of politicians will receive emails and phone calls from this organization in the near future.  With any luck, conversations will take place and go well, and some things will be accomplished.  The NSBA has ties to over 150,000 small businesses, after all, and the Dow's already ended a fairly peaceful streak by dropping 314 points so far today.

NSBA Chair Marilyn Landis noted in a statement, "The financial difficulties small businesses have been dealing with over the past year do not end with the 2008 election cycle.  NSBA looks forward to working closely with the new Administration and Congress on key small-business priorities . . ."

So do your part too, if you wish, rather than waste time celebrating a done deal or complaining about something that can't be changed.  Now's not a bad time to contact whatever individuals represent your region.  Or you can just get back to business.

You might even be able to act in an extra-productive manner since politicians' annoying ads should finally disappear from radio, television, and the Internet.
