The New York Times Small Buisness SummitNext Monday, November 17h, the New York Times is hosting its fourth annual Small Business Summit at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in NYC. I know travel expenses are one of the things many businesses are trying to cut back on, but before you read any further, general admission for this thing is only $99. That's not too bad, especially if you live in the New York area.

For a taste of what you might be in for, there are some videos from last year's summit on the official site. According to the Times:
The Summit will include a full day of presentations by some of America’s most successful executives and consultants, along with keynote addresses by Gary Hirshberg, chairman, president and C.E.O. of Stonyfield Farm, and Liz Lange, founder and president of Liz Lange Maternity.
The morning panel will be moderated by Michael Rogers, the MSNBC “Practical Futurist” columnist and former futurist-in-residence for The New York Times Company, and will include Claudia Chan, president and co-founder, Shecky’s Media; Tariq Farid, president and C.E.O., Edible Arrangements; Linda Kaplan Thaler, C.E.O., The Kaplan Thaler Group; and Jim Koch, founder, The Boston Beer Company.
Here's what to expect from the summit.
- Panel discussions with Q. and A.
- Breakout sessions
- Vendor fair
- Luncheon with keynote speaker
- Networking opportunities at the Local Resource Café
- Cocktail reception open to all attendees
The Summit lasts from 8am to 6:30pm and will supposedly cover the most important aspects of running a business. For more information on the event or to register, go to the official site.
And speaking of events, WebProNews is currently at PubCon in Las Vegas and coverage of that should be rolling in today.
