Dell Thinks SoSmall business owners in the UK are generally unsatisfied with television programming that is aimed at them, if the results from a recent survey by Dell are accurate. Back in the summer, Dell surveyed 755 small business owners in the UK, and found this to be true online and off. Dell's Chief Blogger writes:
A quarter of those surveyed thought programs like Dragon’s Den and The Apprentice diminished the public’s perception of real business people. 27 percent of respondents did not believe these programs helped viewers with real business situations. And 74 percent went on to say they would be interested in more relevant business programming for small businesses. Looking at the results, our team in Dell EMEA thought there was room for improvement. That’s the point of www.smallbusinessadvice.tv
Dell and the British Chambers of Commerce, has collaborated with Intel to launch Small Business Advice TV – a new web TV channel designed to address the the needs of small businesses in the UK and beyond. The channel offers expert commentary and advice to business owners to take the headache out of areas like accounting, financing, marketing, HR and technology (which all featured as the top pain points in the research results).

This appears to be an interesting channel to check out. The first episode this Friday will be hosted by former CNBC anchor Sean Walsh, who will be joined by John Dunsmure, MD, British Chambers of Commerce. They will look at how business can work their way through the current climate.
Then episode 2 on December 4th will feature an exclusive interview with Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell, who will talk to Walsh about entrepreneurial insights and experiences also including his take on small businesses in the current climate. Episode 3 on December 18th will feature expert interivews and case studies looking at social networking value.
Episodes will be broadcast live at smallbusinessadvice.tv, but will also be available for download on demand. Right now, they are taking questions for the first episode, so if you have any, you can submit them here. They say they'll do their best to answer them live.
