Many of you may remember our coverage of SBMU Houston earlier this year. The conference was held in a full-scale replica of the Alamo at the Northwest Forest Conference Center. It made for a very intimate setting. The fall conference moved to Columbus and had more of a traditional conference environment but maintained its small, intimate setting.

Jennifer Evans Laycock, the Founder of SBMU and the Editor-in-Chief of Search Engine Guide, says that creating that intimate setting is one of the goals of their event. There are so many large conferences that offer valuable information but not on a small business budget.

Small businesses have to start somewhere and SBMU tells them how to begin and move forward. The speakers bring their message down on a small business level and advise the attendees on tools that will help them grow. They might not advise the very best tool in the beginning, but once you start using that tool and start bringing in revenue, then you could invest in the more costly and effective tool and grow your business even more.
