New Chair At NSBA

Ashmus has all-star resume

The National Small Business Association is one of several organizations that provide interesting small business information on a regular basis.  It's been around since 1937, and claims to reach around 150,000 companies.  We're talking about it today, though, because it has a new chair: Keith Ashmus.

Since he was already on the NSBA board, Ashmus looks to be in a decent position to take the reigns without going through any sort of adjustment period.  Considering what's happening with the economy right now, that's rather important.  Then his other qualifications serve to inspire even more confidence.

As explained in a press release, "Ashmus is a co-founding partner of Frantz Ward LLP, an entrepreneurial law firm formed in 2000 and recently named one of Ohio's top 50 law firms.  In addition to numerous leadership positions within NSBA, he is a past chairman of the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), a Cleveland-based NSBA affiliate. . . ."

Also, "Ashmus is a past president of the Ohio State Bar Association, was named one of Ohio's Top 100 lawyers by Cincinnati magazine and is involved with various other charitable organizations including the Salvation Army."  And the NSBA's president, Todd O. McCracken, put his stamp of approval on the move.

We look forward to see what sort of impact Ashmus - who's already talking about working with lawmakers - will have.
