Tax returns are due in about one week's time, and across America, people are probably getting nervous as they deal with the countdown.  The National Association for the Self-Employed wants small business owners to listen to a few tips and take a deep breath, though.

Here's what may be one of the most helpful pieces of advice: according to a statement, "Sole proprietors doing their own taxes can find help from a number of sources, including the NASE's Tax Resource Center [tax.NASE.org], where you can ask the NASE's expert CPAs a question and hear back within a few business days."

Furthermore, "You can find Schedule C from A to Z, a line-by-line guide for completing the tax form Schedule C, available online at http://www.NASE.org.  The IRS also offers a Web site (http://www.irs.gov) and toll-free help line, 1-800-829-1040, for your tax questions."

Remember that you can always get a six-month extension, too.  In this scenario, you just have to be careful to pay anything you think you'll owe so the IRS doesn't feel cheated.

Everybody relax, then.  As any procrastinator can tell you, all sorts of stuff can be accomplished in eight days.  And if things start to look really bad, remember that coffee and loud music can give you access to eight nights, as well.
