I tend to agree- The business plan is more of a marketing tool when submitting to several VC sources for funding. If the underlying business is not sound, no one is going to offer funding no matter how good the plan reads.
-Just like employee resumes vs. the resulting personal interview. You have to be able to back up what is put on paper...
Business planning
Business planning is a fundamental to many government backed funding schemes and while your research is interesting for vc funding the business plan should not be thrown out for all funding.
I agree it's an absolute
I agree it's an absolute waste of time. A business plan should be
taken with a pinch of salt.
There's no guarantees that with one a business will succeed.
It's easier to write a "I plan to.." guide rather than putting in the
effort of doing the actual work.
Moreever most ideas have already been thought of, what's most
important is execution and effort, not your writing skills, although
they can be useful, it's not essential or a prerequisite to success.
