5. Encourage future purchases with customer rewards

"Email marketing is one of the best ways for retailers to promote their products and stay in touch with customers, and holiday and annual events like Mother’s Day provide the perfect opportunity for special promotions," says Campaigner's Steve Adams. "Engaging last minute shoppers can be especially valuable for retailers to connect with customers and provide that extra care and attention that can build customer loyalty and repeat business."

Email marketing can be a great way to get some sales from last-minute shoppers, but that doesn't mean you should wait until the last minute to run your campaign. Not everyone is a procrastinator. And if you're looking for some good Mother's day sales, you don't want to be either.

Great advice!

Now is definitely the time to get in and take advantage of Mother's Day which is very much around the corner. I would suggest starting Mother's Day promotions even before this week; even 4 weeks in advance as a lot of people during that time would be lurking around for ideas, and chances are if they like something you offer they will be back to you when they're ready to buy!
