The number of people who may win the 2009 Lewis Shattuck Small Business Advocate of the Year Award is now down to a tiny pool. The National Small Business Association named five finalists yesterday.
The finalists have made it to this point in the process by doing great work both within and on behalf of small businesses. We should find out who's distinguished him or her self the most in these respects following an award luncheon on Tuesday, June 9th.
Meanwhile, the names and professions of the five finalists are as follows: Michael Bowlds is the president of Mountaintop Marketing Group, LLC. Michael Mitternight is president of Factory Service Agency, Inc. Thomas C. Pitrone, CFP, is principal of The Integrity Group. Susan Ratliff is president of Exhibit Experts, Inc. And finally, Robert C. Smith is president and CEO of Spero-Smith Investment Advisers, Inc.
Out of respect for your time, we'll hold off on sharing biographical information until the winner's been chosen.
These five folks are all very important, though. NSBA President Todd McCracken stated, "I am honored to recognize these exceptional individuals for their tireless efforts on behalf of America's small-business community. . . . We need them now more than ever."
