In a little more than two weeks' time, UK-based small business owners who work from home will get to spend a while in the spotlight.  The national enterprise network known as NFEA has decided to label the period between July 6th and July 10th Home Enterprise Week.

"NFEA will be providing comment and opinion on a national scale . . . to draw attention to home business topics, issues and opportunities," according to a press release.  "Activity will be focused on giving existing home businesses the profile and support they need, as well as introducing the home enterprise concept to current and future start up businesses."

NFEA Chief Executive George Derbyshire also stated, "It's not generally appreciated that most small businesses are based in the owner's home - and that brings its own challenges as well as opportunities. . . . [I]t's only right that NFEA should be giving special attention to this sector, and we hope both new and existing home based businesses will benefit from this week of unique activity."

This all sounds rather nice, and may prove helpful, depending on how much interest and publicity NFEA can drum up.  (On that note, at least one other entity is already onboard with the idea: Enterprise Nation.)

So get ready to receive a little attention if you live in the UK and work from home.  And we'd encourage American small business owners to celebrate the week, too, if possible.
