Business practices will become a lot easier.Did you realize that email was designed in the 1960's? Do you think it's ready for an update? Lars and Jens Rasmussen of Google thought so when they began working on a project that turned into Google Wave. They wanted to incorporate new forms of communication into the older forms.
The toolset is a collaboration model that combines email, instant messaging, social media, and more. To get started, users can create their own wave and add people to it. People within a wave can insert replies or edit the wave with richly formatted text, images, gadgets and even feeds from other places. All this can be done in real time.
Waves are embeddable on any blog or website. Users can edit any information written within the wave through the wiki feature. There is also a playback feature that allows users to play back any part of a wave that they want. Google Wave is also equipped with a spell checker and link checker and organizational tools that allow files, videos, pictures, and other wavelengths to be dragged and dropped. In addition, one of the most notable features of Google Wave is that it will remain an open source project to allow third party developers to further innovate and improve the product.
As discussed in the video above, Google Wave has the potential to change the future of business. Users can manage all their media under their Google Wave account and can share and edit documents simultaneously with other users. Think about how much time that will save! Communication will also be improved since all transactions can be made in real-time.
Google Wave is said to be released later this year. How do you see Google Wave benefiting your business?

G.W. will benefit business because it will improve online collab
Abby,
I could not agree more with you that Google Wave will indeed improve our business. We do a lot of online collaboration, outsourcing and project management and Google Wave will be perfect for this.
It will saves hours of emailing and sitting at your desk in front of the computer 9-5. I believe it will help those that like to be 'Unplugged' in the following way:

Overwhelming users?
I don't think this will replace email quickly, but I think it will become used intensely by professional niches that require real-time collaboration acorss large distances. I also think technical groups in universities will become heavy users, which will eventually seed future adoption in certain industries. But I worry that the possibilities will leave many users feeling overwhelmed. It's the "crossing the chasm" issue that may hinder Google Wave.
