Connect your Blog with the Twitterverse

Google Suggests TwitterFeed

Blogger, the Google-owned blog platform, is suggesting that you use Twitterfeed to tweet your new blog posts. This is a way to expand the readership of your blog, as well as participate on Twitter without actually tweeting things about you life.

Not everyone like automated content on Twitter, but they don't have to follow it either. When you set something like this up, it is pretty much like using Twitter as an RSS reader. A lot of Twitter users will actually appreciate it, because it will provide an easy way to stay update on your blog with a service they're already using. Non-feed reader users may find it especially helpful.

Brett on the Blogger Buzz blog writes, "Tweeting your new blog posts is a great way to engage your readers, and something that many on the team have taken advantage of for our own blogs. An easy way to do this is through Twitterfeed, which automatically updates Twitter with each new blog post."

To set up Twitterfeed on a blog:

1. Go to Twitterfeed.com
2. Click Sign in with OpenID
3. Type in your blog's URL
4. You'll be taken to a New feed page where you can link blog feeds to your Twitter account
5. Click the Connect your feed to Twitter Account button
6. Enter your Twiter login info, then you'll get a confirmation
7. Enter a name for you feed and the URL
8. Click Create Feed

This may get you some more blog readers. Retweets are pretty valuable. Twitter caters to viral promotion.

Thanks for your tutorial, I think twitter is very helpful for my blog.

Wondering...

I use Twitter for marketing my safety and security web site but I don't have a blog, however, I have a forum on my site. Just wondering if this would work to let my followers know I've posted a new article on my forum. Thanks, Chris.
