It's never too early to start planning for the holidays. Google has shared some results from a survey of consumers, which found that while 86% of them are planning to shop for the upcoming holiday season, many of them are already starting.
The survey found:
- 44% of shoppers have already started their holiday shopping and researching
- Over a third of respondents (36%) said they have already begun making holiday purchases
"In taking a look at query volume using Google Insights for Search, we see that search interest in 'christmas gift' has upticked sharply over recent weeks, demonstrating this increased research activity," says Eric Lopez of the Google Retail Team.
What this means for retailers is obviously that its time to plan for the holidays if you haven't already started. You may want to consider this in you marketing endeavors from here until the end of the year.

Christmas Shopping
I have seen 3 sales this week on Christmas items, I do believe people are shopping a bit earlier this year, possibly to avoid all the spending in December.

I know we all have Christmas on our minds but we have lots of holidays coming up starting with Halloween which isn't usually my most favorite holiday personally but from a business stand point, my safety and security web site does pretty well.
