Recession Not Affecting Business Mobile Service Use

ABI Research Points to Growth

According to ABI Research, the recession has had little impact on businesses' use of mobile data services. Worldwide mobile data services revenues are expected to increase 17% in 2010, they say.

"Company consolidations have forced the remaining workforce to become even more efficient," says practice director Dan Shey. "Mobile data services offer the most options for tailoring services to the needs and work practices of workers in order to increase productivity and business efficiency."

ABI says messaging services will maintain their leadership position for data revenues, fueled by the penetration and growing use of SMS services by business customers worldwide. Total worldwide messaging revenues from this segment are expected to grow 10% through 2014, equaling $48 billion.

"Mobile broadband revenues will be highest in North America from 2010 to 2014," says ABI. "However, the greatest share the mobile broadband services wallet will go to mobile business customers in Eastern Europe and the Middle East where in 2014 revenues will grow to 27% and 26% of total spending respectively."

According to the firm, application download revenues will see the greatest growth with Asia Pacific mobile business customers.

Funny how recesion doesn't

Funny how recesion doesn't affect the mobile industry market. I think consumers still will find ways to get what they want on a mobile phone. The main thing is about communicating while on the go.

People like to talk,

People like to talk, especially on the phone, with the cell phone, they will talk about food, movies, gossips, maybe thats why we can't live without a cell phone.

I think as time goes on the

I think as time goes on the internet is seen as a necessary utility. It enables people to find the cheapest deals, the best prices, to discuss and comment on lots of issues. companies are always going to need data sources, information is king and it's always going to be important to learn what your customers think and how your market is acting.

Food v/s Mobile connections

Yes, you are absolutely right. If you take the example of my country, many new campaigns has been launched my Mobile connections like Ufone, Telenore and Warid and people do purchase their services. Today consumers has no food to eat but has credit to talk.. This is really funny situation. Isn't it?

Funny email forwards

Talk, Talk, Talk ....
