A.K.A. SMART GoalsSometimes goals are like New Year's resolutions -- they don't get very far. With business goals however, it is important that they are well planned and established to ensure that they are achieved.
There are five elements that are involved with an effective goal, which make up the acronym SMART. As discussed in the above video, those ingredients are:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timely
In addition, it is best to write your goals on paper. If you do this, it helps bring them to reality and hold you accountable. Once you've written your goals out, you then need to prioritize.
Since you may not be capable of conquering all your goals at once, approach them individually. Remember that if you try to take on more than you can handle, your efforts will seem sloppy to consumers.
When all these factors are combined in a goal, it has a much better chance of succeeding.
